Re: You thought your doctors were idiots...
Suing is not the problem... idiot judgments are the problem! Everybody should have the right to sue but judges and jury's should not get emotionally biased by whatever occurred and should truly look at whose at fault!!!

I agree that frivolous lawsuits are damaging but! Who is going to decide what is and is not frivolous? I still believe the only way to end the stupid things being ran through our courts is to make them non-profitable. If you knew you would not win because it was stupid then you wouldn't bother trying. Idiots are the problem and unfortunately jurys (as well as plaintiffs)are full of them. We all get punished because people are soooooooo dumb! I do not want to be punished or lose MY ability to bring a lawsuit because other people abuse the right though, do you? We just keep making laws that we believe will help us- but in the end those very laws deprive us of our rights too. Although we set out to prevent a wrong we just created a even bigger problem.

Yes, I know that lawsuits are a cost of healthcare, just like any other industry, but don't give me that shit that malpractice lawsuits are a "huge" cost of healthcare, insurance companies and ever faster pace of insurance premiums are the main culprit, as well as corporate run hospitals, like the types that Bill Frist owns.

This one lawsuit, effected her entire practice, given she was a solo-practitioner, it was a devastating hit to a doctor that was absolutely on top of her game, on all levels....
