Maybe need a new ignition switch...sounds like it's going bad. But alas, I'm only a senior at highschool who's car knowledge involves lots of auto-shop work.

I carry a screw driver in my car now, works pretty good...I'm installing it friday.

    Re: shitty car ignition

I felt stupid this morning when I went to go turn on my truck and nothing happened when I turned the key (no sounds whatsoever) get all pissed then come back and realize the stupid gear select lever had slightly moved out of the Parked position which is so minute you can't tell unless you actually move the lever up and down. It is so weird, and an annoying, because the starter refuses to do anything unless the tranny is in the parked position.

    Re: shitty car ignition

Mine was like that for a day...here is the order of what happened with my ignition.

First couple days...just wiggled the shifter and it came out...then that didn't work anymore.

Next couple of days...I had to tap the brake and it came out...then that didn't work anymore...

The next day I pumped the gas and it came out...then that stopped working...

now I have to stick a screwdriver in my steering column to get it out.

You need a new switch my friend, It will eventually snap and not work at all and then u might end up having to get work done to ur steering coluum, My uncle had to get it done to his truck when the same thing happened. They never put his steering wheel back on straight. i would recommend getting it fixed before it really screws something up.
