Any fellow Rock Climbers out there?
Alright, lets see dem scars!
This was while bouldering, after doing a v7+ overhang (was cut-loose for most of it) transverse that had nothing but pinch (and a few crimp) holds.
Click each pic for high-rez:
Took nearly two hours (6-7 tries) to finally get it. Not a bad climb, ive done worse, and much harder ones. I even had a lot of stamina left, but hands were RAW. Holds were rougher than sand paper! I should have taken a picture with chalk on my hands then, you could actually see the were the holds took 1-2 layers of skin off. 3 callus' a finger, save the ones I tapped. You can actually see a callus on top of another callus on my right hand pinky finger.

Re: Any fellow Rock Climbers out there?
After two weeks in Joshua Tree of waking up every day at sunrise to go bouldering for 2 or 3 hours before my partners got up, then onto trad until I got too thrashed to lead for the day, finished with taking whoever was interested out to whatever decent boulders I'd worked in the morning, then dinner, followed by bed at sunset. My mits had more blood on them two days prior, but I never thought of snapping a pic.

Re: Any fellow Rock Climbers out there?
J-Tree is FILLED with classic climbs. Great bouldering, great trad lines, and appropriately nerve wracking oldschool sport routes, which often include telling yourself, "It's OK... I'll be fine... I clipped a bolt 20 feet ago, so I should be able to see the next bolt soon". The rock is monzogranite (or so I've been told), which is made up of huge crystals that are sharp as hell. It's really easy to get torn to pieces with bad technique, but the friction is just amazing. J-Tree has the most to offer in trad, and bouldering IMO, though there are a few sport routes well worth going out of your way for. Not all that many multi pitch routes, but there's a plethora of single pitch stuff which is easy enough to clock miles on, and avoid the heat or cold as needed.
I've spent a few months there all told, and keep wanting to go back, so I'd recommend it for sure. I'm a bit obsessed with granite though, as my local crags/boulders are almost entirely conglomerate. Conglomerate's fun, but granite is where my mind always wanders... J-Tree, Yosemite, Squamish, Powell River... Bouldering, and trad.

I think Jabber's got you beat for nasty pics, Bunni!
I climbed some indoor gyms in FL from like 2005-2007. I liked the boulder routes more than the top rope ones. Get this: climbing the tall routes scared me. That's right... a 40 ft wall scares me, but the open door of an airplane doesn't. Go figure. Never did get to climb outside though, and I've lost all my climbing muscles now I'm sure. But I was in SoCal a couple months ago for a skydiving event and had a day to kill so drove through Joshua Tree which was like 2 hrs away. Got a bunch of nice photos, though most are just of pretty rock formations, not necessarily climbable ones.

And I don't have any scars to show, but I think I have a total of one pic of me climbing... this was from a gym in the Netherlands, built inside of an old church. Really cool place. I thought this spire coming down from the roof was unique too.
