Re: your exhaust falls off...
That's nothing. I had an old 1986 Chevy El Camino lovingly named SCAR. This poor bitch was beat to hell and back while being rode hard and I made sure to put it up wet. I'll save the story of my 80mph "I just lost my wheel" episode for later, ahh the memories (and there were several).
After a very late night of binging on unmentionables I had left my El Camino's lights on. The first thing you need to know about the car is that the windows are electric and both inside door handles had been broken off. This means that I had to roll my window down to open my door...
So I get in my terribly beat up road SCAR in a suit and tie because I would be dealing with customers that day. I turn the key and nothing happens. No big deal, I'll just get a jump... oh wait... I have to get out to get a jump and to get out I have to roll down one of my windows.
I made the call to work that my car was dead and I was locked inside of it. Of course nobody believed me. A hispanic gentleman was passing by and I'm pretty sure he didn't speak any english. I knocked frantically on the back window and pointed at my door handle. This isn't the best of neighborhoods. As a matter of fact, at the time I was living in the cheapest apartments in my city where in the past month there had been 2 armed robberies, a shooting and a rape. He must have thought I was drunk or a hoodlum because he approached the car as if there was a bomb in it. You know that approach, where you reach out with your arm but the rest of your body stays behind and you turn your face a little. Yeah...
