    Managers...

Alright so about a week ago I was invited to go snowboarding on the 6th of March. naturally I agreed. But unfortunately I agreed without looking at my work schedule first, it turns out I work on the 6th. So I called up a co-worker and asked if he could pick up my noon shift (we use HotSchedules), he said he could...so I dropped the shift and he picked up it and our manager approved the swap.

One day later the same manager modifies my schedule to work at 1:30 PM. What the hell man?

well... you weren't working for a while, you should come in and work!

Customer service jobs are like that, the manager has a lot of expectations that have absolutely NOTHING to to with the job or the customer...

that, or your manager simply forgot. Be a nice person, remind him of the situation, and it's going to work out. Assuming he hates you and wants to screw you over isn't helpful.

I never said that, and I did talk to him today about it. On saturday someone didn't show up, so he got suspended...and that somebody was the person who worked the 1:30 shift, so once I again I dropped the shift and my manager said he'd look for somebody.

And for some reason the 6:30 busser picked up my 1:30 shift (we only have 3 bussers on saturdays, one from 12-4, one from 1:30-7, one from 6:30 to close).

I think the next step down from bussing is working in sweat shops.

It's pretty bad, a host on Saturday who literally, and admitted to it, just stood there and told the other hosts where to go all day made as much as me....and I was working my ass of Saturday. Messed up right? To you guys, probably not.

Never worked as a pure busser. Always a server. Basically the same job, just more money is being a server.

Bartenders have it so incredibly easy at CIP...if they work weekday mornings they make around 6 dollars and hour, plus tip share, plus tips...

They bank all the time compared to servers, hosts, or bussers.

You gotta put those hostesses in their place...

My first night working at Chili's in college, before I became a bartender, the hostess kept calling me "Busser"; "Busser, go bus 25, busser, go bus 14..." yada yada.

So this server named Ken says "He has a name, it's Brian, show some respect..."

So I replied "Nah Ken, it's cool...she can call me Busser and I'll call her by her title - 'Door Whore'".

Oh man, that one-liner set the tone for my whole career there...it lived in infamy for months...
