Just a few helpful links for job-seekers aside from the normal careerbuilder/monster/dice links:

With the economy turned to crap and reduced retirement of old controllers due to both retirement funds taking a dip and the fact that NATCA (controller's union) winning a better contract than they had had for the last 6-7 years, new controller jobs are reduced. However, with waves of thousands of old controllers expected to retire every year going forward (since keep in mind there's a maximum age after which a controller is not allowed to work, unlike other jobs) there will be openings in the years to come. I know that in the past few years they have been hiring people "off the street" instead of only those that have military controller experience or who have gone to a CTI school program.

I also wanted to note, for those considering the military, that if your branch of the armed forces has controller jobs, that those are a great pathway to a civilian job later on as a controller. As far as I know military experienced controllers are preferred since they already understand a lot of the background principles and methods of ATC.

All FAA hiring is done through ASAP which is here: https://jobs02.faa.gov/asap/default....er&WCE=ceAgree

Many other government jobs use this conglomerate site here: http://www.usajobs.gov/

Just keep in mind that USAJobs will usually give you the summary of an entry for whatever organization it's under and then forward you onto that organization's application page.

Also keep in mind that this stuff is generally kinda slow in turnaround time because it's the government.
