Re: How are you treated at your work?
One of my jobs is a loss prevention officer for a local grocery chain. The stores I work are all in Bloomington Indiana (IU) and the managers all like me and we get along well.
Although, my company are some corrupt fuckers. This is the latest thing they did.
I make 10 dollars an hour. We have to travel to the office once a week to turn in our time sheets etc. State law mandates that we get paid for this. After enough people bitched, they finally started to pay us our money for that.
Here is the kicker...
In order to pay us .3 hours at the rate of 7.50 per hour for the "administration" time, MANDATED BY STATE LAW THEY DO....they took 2% off everyones base pay to cover the cost for this. So, I now make LESS money over all, because my base pay is now 9.80
So, lets say i work 40 hours a week, at my used to be 10/hr, that would be 400 dollars gross correct?
Now, I would make 392 dollars...Plus the .3 hours of 7.50 which is 2.25. Which means now for a 40 hour work wek, i make 394.25, a 5 dollar and 25 cent pay cut.....I fucking hate this company...

Re: How are you treated at your work?
My current job i get treated just fine, i started off as a dishwasher and i was respected very well, i still am respected but now being a cook 3, im a cook with no experience so they still respect me and treat me greatly but they still kno im new to all the cooking techniques and shit so when i fuck up they definitly tell me. haha. My previous job i was praised like a god, and when i still go in there i am STILL praised like a god.

My company treats me great; they really take good care of us.
They pay me well, and the benefits are really nice and include health, dental, retirement, and vision.
Our customers are a mixed bag. Most tolerate us, even if they secretly loath the requirement for us to be there.
A few I would consider to be pretty good friends.
When we save their ass, they take the credit because they cut the check. If we fail, its totally on us.
They like to call us things like "dirty money-grubbing mercenaries" or "corporate bandits feeding on the trough of the public trust"
And yes, some will say things like that to our faces.
But in the end, we are the ones that make all their toys work and without us, their wars would be much tougher to fight.Sleep, eat, conquer, meditate, repeat.

Get the PPV order processed and move on.
In the center itself, seems to be the night they treat everyone thats working. Incentive for OT I guess. They bring in food, and have the PPV event on the miriad of 50" LCD screens put throughout the center (which normally show the call queues)
I have moved away from the customer facing end of it mostly. Now I deal with the Care agents, Network Operations, Resource Management, and Fix Agents. Occasionally upper management.. Customer interaction is limited now. But still seems like management is treating the employees quite well.

Or something.

I can leave early for family appointments and for work related social gatherings. They are very laid back. They just want me to do my job and don't babysit. The people I work with are great. It's actually fun to come into work. I don't always enjoy the actual work, but for the most part it's not that bad.
My customers are generally pretty good. There are a few prima donnas that are big players (contractors) in our industry that like to throw their weight around and if you don't wine and dine them they don't give you orders. That drives me crazy. I'm of the mind that they should do business with me because I give them a fair price and the correct bill of material and our office does a good job managing the order even well after the final fixture is billed and not because I sent them on a trip to Vegas. I hate that stuff. Some say that's part of doing business and I agree, but that is something I'd rather do to show appreciation for a good customer, not to buy one.
