Re: just for you, toker
One of my good friends, who was a groomsmen for my wedding, is a cop. I have nothing against honest cops doing their jobs as they make for a better place to live in, for the most part.
People are still ignorant about their rights tho. Cops can lie to gain consent and it's surprising how many people don't understand that. I'm all for civil rights stories, but I would much rather watch or read about a self defense story.
Here's a decent comment from some guy on that site:
Everyone, be careful. Although all this “civil rights” stuff is great, it rarely works in the real world. He drove up in a car, all they needed to say is he made some illegal action with his vehicle, or some lie about him being a “suspect”. Its that easy and the game is over. The camera saved him here. Also the broad daylight. If he was alone where no one could see, he would have been taken down, and taken down hard, and the camera would meet with a terrible accident. These two cops were caught off guard by the camera. You can bet they got together after wards and have since developed a plan to “deal” with a similar situation. They are not used to being refused, they didn’t know what to do. The next time he’ll “match the description of a wanted man”, or any number of a thousand other “probable cause” lies. Everyone do what you must, just be real careful when you watch this stuff. A lot of bad things can happen and exercising your rights rarely goes this smoothly.

It's not about being defiant or "standing up to the man", no, it's simply about knowing your rights and protecting yourself.
http://flexyourrights.org/ is a decent site with useful info...
If you have some time to kill, this is a great video:

Take a long look in the mirror and ask yourself, is it worth it?
If he just given him his ID that whole situation would of been over in 5 minutes, tops, but since he kept going it obviously escalated into something that could of totally been avoided.

After talking with blakeman I have to say this.
Even though he is in the right, you still look fucking stupid when you walk up to a cop with a camera and a gun and expect not to get questioned.
I'm all for our rights, but there are better ways to go about doing this than what this website is portraying.

Being a jackass and idiot does not get ones point across in a manner that instigates discussion, thought or change.
