Youl find that alot of the required courses that everyone has to take arnt needed to much later in life except in very sepcific situations. Im an accountant and I do a surprisingly small amount of math...

Not everyone is a mathematical genius, yeah you need the class. But like langrad and one of my teachers says, depending on your life course, math isn't as important as everyone makes it out to be.

Math and reading comprehension are the only subjects that matter in high school. Master those, and aything else can be learned.

This has just been my experience, but when it comes to my sister and I we have always talked about everything that my parents do not know/ will never know. She has always taken care of me and when my mom would try to fish for info my sister always told her to come to me if she wanted to know something.

It's also worked best when she would suggest I go to mom and just offer what ever support I needed to do so. So I would suggest talking to your sister first and just let her know that you are there, etc.

Although BD definitely has some very valid points, and a parent probably knows better. ;-). Good luck either way.

Ho worry not Mr white, there are many years of math left in my future, just turns out that calc and 4 hours a day of theater tech work on the side don't mix.

me and calc are better now. once i quit theater tech( whole nother ball o wax there, dont ask) my academics were much better off.

Its a difficult balance between academics and electives. I know some people who want to do take all kinds of extra classes for fun (dance, sports, whatever) and they cant handle the amount of time it takes so they either have little/no social life or they do much worse in school...

wow this thread is mutated, what a surprise,

anyways, I loved tech, however, 5 people trying to build and maintain an entire set including lighting and sound took too much time, we made kick ass sets, and the lighting was great.

however that is ALL we had time to do. we would start work around 2pm(when we got to class) and work till the actors showed up for rehearsal around 6-7.
