Yay for over priced homes in this area.

Personally, I went the house route before marriage. We (by we, I mean she) are (is) planning the wedding now after being in our house for ~2 years... So far, it beats the hell out of renting in every possible way. I even enjoy doing yard work... planting plants, trees etc. It's great exercise and an amazing stress reliever.

Even if you have to buy just on the outskirts of Silicon Valley if you still insist on living in that area, it will change your life.

I like getting my Hank Hill on as well. Nothing better than cracking all of the widows open, and having the smell of freshly cut grass fill the house.

Having your own castle (I refer to mine as a "compound") will change your life. No King should be without one.

    I'll give you overpriced...

$740,000 for a townhouse. I don't care how nice that damn thing is... it's still a townhouse. Especially when 11 years ago it sold for $345,000 (which is still ridiculous in my opinion).
Market forces I guess. 2 hospitals plus the National Institute of Health right there.
