someone posted it before, it was a picture of an AR-15 with the scope mounted to the A2 upper receiver that has the carry handle on it. I can't remember who it was but what model scope will I need to mount to the A2? I need to go ahead and write that down now so I don't forget about it....+1 for the wish list.
ah, I see the confusion now, when I said "it" in "someone posted it before" I wasn't referring to the picture above, lol. I was referring to the picture I was trying to recall in my head, your picture was just for reference since it had a rifle with a scope in it, lol. sorry bout that.

edit, checked out one site and there were scopes ranging from $100 to %1500, guess I need to find out what magnification I want....

Could it be the trigger pull weight as well? It sounded like his uncle had a lighter trigger pull weight.
the trigger pull weight on the P99 was super light, I just hated standing there holding my aim/controlling my breathing and guessing when it's finally going to go off...
The Glock 27 is a subcompact with only 2 fingers on the grip. You can use magazines with larger capacity and also get room for the extra finger.

Here are other options for more grip: http://www.tucsonguns.com/Glock27mags.php

hmm, for some reason I was thinking I saw online a Glock 27 with 3 fingers on the grip not including the magazine. Maybe someone made a mistake when the put the picture up...

Or do you want any magnification at all? You could get a red dot and probably be just fine unless you are going for competition style groupings or longer range varmint hunting.

All our brothers use the Aimpoint now I believe, just a red dot optic on the A4. Some get the ACOG too with I think 4 power magnification.

Were you thinking of something like this Glock?

I think they have an aftermarket magazine for that which has your extra finger groove but I am not a Glock person so I dunno.

There are a lot of Sig P226s coming on the market lately from foreign police trade-ins that are a good deal if you are looking into 9mm, but they are definitely not compact.

My bud with the same 1911 as you ended up buying one of these.

Kel Tec in 9mm called the PF9. I believe you can get the belt clip for them as well but he is going to get a pocket holster that makes it look like a wallet.

LOL you just posted an AIRSOFT mount. That piece of shit is not going to hold up for 1 minute. TheCountryShed has some decent stuff, but I'd never put anything for airsoft on a rifle of mine.

From my own experience, I can pretty much agree with everything in this quote.
Regarding the Krebs mount, different mount for different purpose.
Krebs provides iron sights, but they are unusable with an optic on the rail.
Krebs' rail is fantastic for a low or med mounted tube-style scope.
Acogs are too high, eotechs are too high, aimpoints are usable with ultra low rings.
T-1's are fine of course, but again, you can't cowitness the irons with ANY sight.

The larue AK sight provides an incredibly low mounted dot.
The dot is more 1) precise, 2) more visible and3) more reactive to ambient light than I was led to believe from other who've claimed to have used it.
There is a built in buis that is everything the std AK sight is minus distance adjustments.
It sits in the lower fifth of the sight, but is completely visible.
That is, it's not just the tips of the sights that you can see but never actually use -
    it's COMPLETELY usable.
This larue product defines 'low profile', it's just not there.
The cheekweld is perfect, you can mush your cheek in if you want or chin-up a little.
There's enough flexibility in the window of the sight to do either.
Find me a mount that is comparable. I am definitely a Larue fan.

Fine, the real mount looks identical...

Different companies make ones that look the same as well but might not have the stupid tri rail deal or will have a different style of rear attachment to the trunnion screw.

I just picked out a pic on google of what it looked like. Airsoft guys use the same shit on ARs that is on a real rifle too, they just don't have the rifle.

And it isn't a piece of shit, its metal that connects from the rear sight to the rear trunnion screw. Many folks find them to work fine since it works on the same principle as the AK-74SU rear iron being on the receiver and the receiver cover being hinged. Your LaRue optic uses the same principle and attaches the the rear sight as well, but doesn't have a rear attachment, it only hangs on to your rear sight assembly much like the scout scope mount I also posted.

You could also mount a red dot on the gas tube, but I find this to be placed too far forward. The BP-02 sits flush with the top of the receiver and uses the old russian side rail so it will be my pic. IMO the side rail is the best way to attach any optic to the AK, even if it doesn't look as pretty.
