I'm more inclined to work in a job of the italicized part but have been given a large hint that I'll probably be doing the bolded part.

CGI is seeking graduating students interested in entry-level opportunities for our xxx Virginia Center of Excellence (COE) in support of our Federal business unit (CGI Federal). CGI Federal is in need of technical resources to help design and develop our proprietary federal financial management solution-Momentum.

The xxx Virginia COE is critical to CGI’s delivery of industry-leading solutions for our clients. The location provides a great quality of living and the dynamic atmosphere encourages team collaboration and individual growth.

Technical hires will be responsible for C++ development on the Momentum baseline product or J2EE/Java for interface development. The successful candidate will work on modifying existing baseline code to improve functionality, troubleshoot defects, and potentially prototype new architectural features. This role could entail design work for future releases as well.

Assignments may include responsibilities in one or more of the following areas:

•Systems Design – Analysis of a system's requirements to create a general or detailed design, system components, and a working model.
•Systems/Applications Development – Conversion of information from design specifications to programming code. Writing specific programs by analyzing workflow charts and diagrams and applying knowledge of computer capabilities to satisfy system requirements.
•Data Design/Database Administration – Analysis, classification and maintenance of an organization's data and data relationships; providing the overall management of data as an organization resource; developing data models necessary to support a system's functions and operations; defining and maintaining data security and integrity.

Essential Skills Required:

•Bachelors Degree in a Technical related major including, Computer Science, MIS, Computer Engineering, etc.
•Experience with C++ and/or J2EE/Java development
•Possession of excellent analytical skills (including OO analysis and design)
•Possession of excellent written and oral communication skills
•Ability to work in a team environment
•Ability to work in the US for an indefinite period of time

Additional qualifications:

•GPA should be on resume to be considered (3.0+ GPA is preferred though not required)
•Provide a copy of the Unofficial/Official transcript at the time of interview
•Employment at CGI is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check
