There is some burn in on my plasma, but it's nothing terrible... you can only see it when you are looking at something that is completely black, which is pretty rare. I wouldn't worry about it much (My TV is also almost 3 years old). If you are worried about the 4:3 ratio, some tv's have a function where the bar is grey - the grey bars don't seem to cause any problems, it's just the solid black that does it.

I'm not so sure that the 4:3 hurts anything anymore (on Plasmas). On mine, when I am watching something in 4:3 (which is less and less now that most channels are 16:9),the side bars are off....as in they are black....as in not on. My Panasonic is nearly three years old,and looks as good as the day I bought it.Screw stretching....makes everything look like you are watching it in a funhouse mirror.

And fuck the 3D bullshit. It's a neat gimmick, but I'm not sitting around with a heavy-ass pair of glasses on (they need batteries). I checked one out (Panasonic 50in Plasma),and it was cool for about 30 seconds. It may catch on,eventually, once they find a way to get rid of the stupid glasses. Much longer, and it would definitely give me a headache.

Yeah I've got the Samsung UE40B8000 and find it to be a great TV. If you go plasma, I hear the Pioneer Kuro line is the best out there.
