    Gun question

I've been having this interest lately on going to a gun range and try it out. But the problem is, I have no idea about guns and of course don't own one. hehehe! I checked online for gun ranges in my area and one of them will even provide you the gun for you to use at the range. YAY! I know I would probably have some safety courses to do and all these legal things etc... since I'm in Canada.

So which type of gun should I use as a beginner? I know that I don't want too much of a recoil though...

Being in Canada a lot of folks here will not know your laws, but if you can go to the range and get your license then that will of course help you on the road to owning one. In Canada you do not have the silly import restrictions from China like we have, so an SKS rifle would be able to be had there as would a lot of other hunting rifles. As far as pistols I have read your laws are a little more strict, so you will have to do some research on that.

Try them all. Try as many as they will let you. You may find the 9mm too snappy, a lot of women prefer 45's. Also, look into revolvers, a little 38 special snubnose or the like could do great.

Join and contact the NRA for a certified NRA course for beginners. My wife just went to one for free as a refresher. They start you out in a classroom and move you to the range. She had her own personal trainer. This is a must in my opinion if you do not have a friend that can assist.

My wife likes the smaller glocks. The grips are a bit smaller so she says it feels like a better fit.

You're trying to break her wrists, aren't you? Lol.

If you're really worried about recoil then I'd start with a .22 It's not something you'll be staying with, but it will give you a taste. Then you can try out the 9mm and work you way up until you start to find it's too much.

    LOL

Please do not listen to this. Sorry moving-target, but that was just horrible advice.

I'd look into the many options and sizes of a revolver to start out. You wont know what you like or what feels good until you put em in your hand and shoot them on the range.
