I dont think there is a shop teacher out there that is good at teaching. The 2 at the school i went to had issues all the way around. Mr provost taught small engine repair like lawn mowers. You had to take his class to get into the other. Then mr butcher had the main class. Butcher was only worried about his mustang 2 being ready for the race on the weekend so his son could go crash it yet another week in a row.
I was building a sc 460 my senior year to put into a datsun 200 sx. One day provost with his class comes in while im turning the engine manually. In the middle of turning it he grabs the timing chain. Took the front of his thumb right off. He looks at me as says look what you did. I laughed and told him im not the one that grabed a moving part.

Pretty much, Nissan took over DAT a long time ago, renamed the company to Datsun. They are pretty much the same thing to my knowledge.
