Obama: iPod And Xbox ‘Distraction’ Hard On Democracy

    http://www.ktrh.com/cc-common/politi...rticle=7093468

“With iPods and iPads and Xboxes and PlayStations, — none of which I know how to work — information becomes a distraction, a diversion, a form of entertainment, rather than a tool of empowerment," Obama said.
    Crap.

I could care less about the ipad but the xbox pwns Obama's face.

The politicans need to focus on their work just like everyone else does. That doesn't mean they can't be useful when the times calls for work or entertainment at the right time. People just need to keep work at work, and entertainment for free time.

Lets compare it to reading though. Which are more "empowering", the literature of the 17th century - i.e. things like the Federalist Papers, Common Sense, etc. or our modern day trashy romance novels, etc.?

Why not do both and not just press for the obliteration of entertainment.

That's not at all what I'm saying. I was just saying that he has a point... Believe me, I game just as much as the next guy. But entertainment has been bombarding us with useless information, you can't deny that.
