Or burn it. We had some pretty good fires going at the end of each semester. The worst is that college professors choose which books you will buy and you just know that most of them have side deals going with these publishers/authors to use a different edition every semester/year just so students have to buy new. I had this one pompous professor that made us buy his unfinished book (I shit you not, there were chapters and sections missing) AND a third party text book and would make sure to put questions in his tests that only came from his unfinished work.

Was in printed like it came fresh from MS Word them? I had a professor for one of my philosophy classes make us use her unfinished book as well. You could tell because it was literally printed/formated in Word and you could easily tell. She'd tell us to also point out any mistakes to her so she could fix them later before she finalized the book. I'm surprised the bookstore/university allowed the "book" to be sold. And since it wasn't even a bound book we had to buy a 3" binder to go with it and we couldn't re-sell any of it since it wasn't in shrink wrap anymore and most likely would be updated for the next semester.

Worst $50+ ever spent.

one good thing about the CC, professors know you don't have money so they usually don't switch books too often. The bookstore here is great for selling back to. If the book is needed, you can get half the list price back. If it isn't going to be used, or they have enough of that book, then the prices are piss poor.


Now if you BUY from the book store, you are losing a shitload of money as their mark-ups are terrible. I've bought new versions of a book online for 50% less then the USED version price at the bookstore.
