When you cut fats out of your diet, you're sending a message to your body that it won't be getting any fats and will therefor try to hang on to what you have. I used to drink a sixer/day, plus a shot or two of whatever was in the cabinet. Needless to say, I gained 50 lbs in 1.5 years of this habit. When I dropped my weight, I had to totally give up beer. I kept the Vodka and Gin around the house if I really wanted a drink.

Why not keep some good beer on hand for every once and a while or is it that if you had some around you'd drink a six pack a day again?

It quickly turns into a habit. Not because I am an alcoholic, but because I really like the taste of beer. I still get my Hoegarrden every few weeks, but drinking that is like eating an entire loaf of bread.

i wont comment as to regard to proper eating jason and trigger covered that.

but as to hangovers and a remedy? water is the solution. dehydration is what is really kicking your ass.
when ever i go out binging on river trips my buddy who is a doctor brings a case of saline, y sets and needles. no matter how bad you feel the next day. a bag of saline right into the blood stream a super long piss ( happens every time) and your as good as new.

you don't have access to all that? do like someone else mentioned, drink a glass of water for every alcoholic beverage you consume. ought to be fine
