Cons: Stuff is more expensive than in the States (Although not as much lately, with the exchange rate being what it is), none of the cool online retailers ship here.
Pros: Good food, generally a nice place to live. Oh, and here's our back yard:

Canada in 2 minutes... Going to work, maybe more later.
Pros: Winter, Toronto, Southern Border, Hockey, Poutine, Loads of wilderness, health care, No fear of Muslims, Maple muthafuckin' syrup, Never had bagged milk in my life, and Baby seal club sandwiches (the best sandwich ever)
Cons: Winter, Toronto, Southern border, Gun Control, High cost of alcohol/tobacco, Shania Twain, and Celine Dion

Pro: beaver :9 , moose, hunting, fishing, canoeing, World reputation, not over-populated, education system (better than most), hockey, multi-culturalism
Con: TAX RATE!, long drives to get anywhere, too far north to go cross border shopping, can't spray my lawn, can drink at 19, beer

What do you Canadians usually shell out in taxes as a percent of your gross earnings??
When I am low income (like I am now as a student) about 25% of my earnings go to taxes. When I am not-as-low income (never been high income) It was like 33%. I imagine if I get wealthier that number inches higher until I can afford to exploit loopholes in which case it gets smaller again (is that wrong?)
EDIT: It is worth noting that where I live (Oregon) we have no sales tax (which is unusual in the states) but we have abnormally high property taxes to balance that (so housing here is expensive too...)
