Pre G8 Tussle (Sauso's day at work)

Yesterday there was a group of peaceful protesters out in front of one of the hotels here where the G8 University Summit was being held. Then all of a sudden a small group decides to start tossing rocks and anything they could find at the hotel..

Video in the link will show you the aftermath.

My partner and i got a call to go help out and that's when i was i was nailed with a rock in the back.

The girl in the red who is screaming all the time was one of the people causing all the problems. Tough until we got there.

Yea i just woke up and "aftermath" wasn't the right word to use lol.. More like the link will show you the confrontation. Yes i am a police officer.

It's unfortunate when protesters go to far; they do not realize that it hurts their cause more often than it helps it.

Here is Oregon, when I was young I would go to protests regarding Oregon's natural areas and logging, etc. Many of the people I knew then would do things like sabotage equipment, or even spike a tree. They do not realize a;ll it does it make them a dangerous enemy to the common person, not a saint protecting a cause.

Yeah, from some college friends I've heard about the kind of people that go to whatever protest they can find just to be "those guys" and act out/escalate things, half the time just to bait the people in charge of keeping things civil into doing something that looks bad on film. It did look like a nice professional containment of a bad situation (especially considering that they were diving in front of buses at the end). Also, I might have missed it but I did not see a single tazing!

Looks like it was well handled. I hate people who act like that at what should be nice peaceful protests. Fucking drama queen idiots who don't know how to get anything done. They're self indulgent attention whores who care more about themselves than their cause.
