Name ONE sport that is NOT true about. Did you know that the NFL now has a network where they show every play from an NFL game in 30 minutes? Yes, a 3 hour game actually has 30 minutes of live plays. 3 second play, then 30 seconds of waiting for the next one sounds so exciting.
Don't get me wrong, I love football, basketball, baseball, hockey, and soccer as well, but every game is boring if you don't understand it.

fixed that for you.
What I am saying is you know there are plays going on in football. Possessions and scoring drives. Innings in baseball and basketball they score almost every trip down the court. With soccer you have no idea when its coming. The possession goes back and forth and then Bam! someone scores. They try and setup so that the other team breaks down so they can get a scoring opportunity. And even then with that big ass goal its still hard as hell to make it. Maybe its one of those sports that would be much better watching live, just like baseball.

And again, the same can be said about hockey, football, and baseball. Yes, basketball is different, but I can watch the last 3 minutes of a basketball game and know everything I need to as well.

One of the best parts about soccer is that it's continuous, with only a break for half. No commercial breaks, no TV time outs, just straight up play for 45 +additional, with another 45+ additional.

This just goes to show how young America is. I used to be bothered by comments such as those in this thread when I was younger, but I laugh now. The comparison of football, (yes, football), to other sports is just as absurd as most of you that bring various other forms of nonsensical arguments in other threads; the whole comparing apples to oranges. To those that play the game, not just watch it every 4 years or during the Olympics, it IS football. It's just like all the American sports, baseball, basketball & American football, in the fact that kids grow up watching/playing them from birth, football is still "young" here, so it finds it's fan base (both players and watchers) at the higher age groups. Granted it's gotten better, in places, but it's still very young here. Another thing that i've noticed, is the fact that it seems to be a mid-high level income sports here, where as in all the other countries around the globe, it's the poverty sport, it's the sport you find being played in the slums and ghetto's. Much to the likes of basketball and American football here.
Thing is, people always bash what they don't understand, shows you're immaturity and lack of respect for a sport that has been around far longer than your other most loved "easier to understand" ones.

Very well said tank. It definitely is a more expensive sport here. I did division 1 / premier until high school and it was extremely expensive. Every year we had to spend over $1000 just for warm-up's, bags, uniforms, etc. Not to mention I went through 1 - 2 pairs of cleats per year, which if you want the more comfortable ones, are crazy expensive. We also had to spend almost $2000 per year (or more) for a skills coach on top of our normal coach. Then there are the camps, indoor leagues, and fees that we occasionally paid to be part of a certain club, and I'm pretty sure there were fees for you to have your card / license thing that the ref had to check for the team each game to make sure we were eligible.

Personally I like football (although I have never watched the world cup before and was confused why they would put the stadium microphone in an angry bees nest, then I discovered there was an instrument that makes that irritating noise), hockey, basketball because as others have said those sports all flow with hockey being my favorite as I feel it is more intense.
That being said I am not really a fan of baseball or american football because, as civil put it, you wait around for things to happen too often and that is no fun unless you make a drinking game out of it.
