Headbangers ball...and MTV music awards when music was good (i.e seattle grunge era....nirvana, peral jam, sound garden, etc...)

And the article said that they did loose touch with their music shows once reality TV programs started taking over and this is their way to try to get back into the music side a little more, back to their roots.

Not sure if it'll work, but it should be a good start.

Probably because they are figuring out that the reality shows are being done elsewhere and nothing except the MTV music awards really makes MTV stick out from all the other random garbage cable stations.
