Someone duplicates your ATM card
So I get a call from my bank asking me if I had made a transaction because it was not the normal transactions that I normally do. I ask them what do you mean. Come to find out that someone was able to duplicate my ATM card (even though it was in my possession) and also somehow acquired my PIN number. They were able to withdraw $500.00 from an ATM located in a Dillards at West Oaks Mall in Houston. After the $500.00 withdraw they tried to withdraw another $200.00 1 min later at the same ATM. So here I am cancelling shit from TPG subscriptions to my healthcare shit because I had to get a new card and PIN number. I don't know how they got my shit but they were able to get me pretty good. Good thing BoA is pretty good at watching your money because I had no idea until the next day when they called me. What a pain in the ass!

Does your card have a radio chip in it? With those in bank cards, it's just a quick step to go to somplace busy and pull card info. They also could have been watching an ATM you made a transfer out of. It's either that or you were browsing for some nasty ass pron.

Re: Someone duplicates your ATM card
Thats the thing I havent bought anything at any shady places or anything. I have the card in my possession 100% of the time. The only way I think they could have gotten it was by placing a device the reads and stores the card info and they just duplicated it. Most likely at a gas pump where you have to put your pin in and shit. FK that. Cash only now

Re: Someone duplicates your ATM card
I read a report where they have a device that clips onto an existing atm card reader. It all looks like a regular atm you scan your card and the atm and the device read your card. Normally a camera is set up to capture your pin. They then duplicate your card with the info from the device and use your pin from the camera.
Cover your hand when inputting your pin. If something doesnt feel right with the card reader look closer, there may be a device attached to it.

My wife's pin and card info was stolen a year ago.
This was the culprit, but in Vancouver not Calgary.
