I've traveled down the dirt trail and end at a cliff...

My parents are getting to the point of total collapse. The family is crumbling apart, falling away. With the fact that the fall doesn't kill you, it's the sudden stop, i look to you guys to help me out. It seems that my parents are getting serious about a divorce. My dad doesn't care about shit anymore and has kicked my mom off their checking account. My mom has been looking for places to stay for when and if a divorce were to happen. And I'm stuck in the middle with no resources to guide me through the path less traveled. I need your coordinates to help me find my way out off this cliff and not end at the bottom.

Well, they're adults Vito, you have to either let them work things out on their own or remind them why they fell in love in the first place.

How old are you Don? If you are close to 18 I would be more rigorous in figuring what you would be doing after you are an adult, if it be college, military or whatever.

Parents will do what they want, it isn't up to you to fix their problems. It might sound a bit harsh but they are probably going down that road if what you have posted is true and though it is unfortunate you need to make sure that nothing happens which will jeopardize your own future even though they are in turbulent waters.

My parents split when I was 13 and my Dad dissolved his company and liquidated his assets and took off. He still is an alcoholic and left no money for my mom who me and my brother ended up with. I had no savings for college and ended up going in the military to help pay for that. I've conquered my demons and am pretty normal now, but family can generally dick you up if you get involved in the situation, especially with parents.

To echo what the two above have said...your parents are adults. They're gonna do what they're gonna do....but sometimes this works out for the better.

Before my 'rents got divorced, they were fighting constantly, and I mean CONSTANTLY. They finally decided to get divorced, and after the dust settled, remained good friends. (I was 13 at the time)

Don't look at this like your family is dissolving and disappearing...merely spreading out. Your father is still your father and I'm sure he still loves you very much, and your mother is still your mother and I'm sure she loves you just as much.
The only difference is going to be that they're not under the same roof...

I'm not going to lie and say its an easy transition, it's rough on anybody, but you have to keep your chin up and realize it's overall for the better. Peaceful separation > constant fighting and arguing.
