A few years ago it was like that for me as well, I knew the names of people that played back in 1997+, but few of the other ones outside of Ovechkin, Crosby, etc. Now I mostly just know the major prospects from the past couple years, the Coyotes players, and the big names xD.

Was looking at them and liked the 1st and 2nd one for the most part, granted I don't recognize a lot of names still so may be way I'm not big on the 3rd xD.
1st:
Richards, Koivu, Sedin, Brassard should be a pretty strong Center group, and the Goalkeepers will be killer. Marleau one who looks like he'll be a good pick as well as Kaberle. Outside of those, didn't really recognize the names enough to comment, sorry :/.
2nd:
Kopitar should do good, and Duchene is on a great line iirc so should get plenty of points. Of course Ovechkin will be a beast :P. Kessel and Hossa seems like a beastly RW, Hall sounds good, as does Ennis, Giroux (from memory) did well in the playoffs, Dubinsky is usually decent iirc, And the goalkeeping seems above-average/pretty good.
3rd:
Kopitar and Thornton is nice, Kane should do alright, Erhoff seems good. Hopefully Upshall and Lepisto do well . Goalkeeping should do pretty good, Turco will probably gets lots of save chances. Rest of the names don't really recognize xD.

triple post
my final draft just ended:
Centers: Nicklas Backstrom, Mikko Koivu, Tyler Seguin (just took a shot in the dark on him)
Left Wing: Rick Nash, Patrick Marleau, Taylor Hall
Right Wing: Hossa, Pominville, Jeff Skinner
Defense: Boyle, Ehrhoff, Yandle, Markov, tbd
GK: Niklas Backstrom, Marty Turco, Pascal Leclaire (wanted to try a different strategy this draft)
Of course I didn't do my research as well and took Markov (idiotic pick) :/ so now have to wait til the 11th to get a 4th defender.

Yea, my 3rd team is so close to cap and i pretty much had to fill spots with role players/scrubs. I think i have about 500 thousand to spare for that team. With 3 empty spots.
Should also add that each league has 18 teams.Last edited by -Sauso-; 10-08-10 at 11:53 PM.

So how is everyone teams going? I haven't been getting on enough so my teams are kind of meh. My head to head looks decent, with good scoring on the defense side (Boyle, Yandle, Ehrhoff, Letang, Hamrlik) but goaltending been an issue all year. I just added a trainwreck of goalies, hoping for some luck (as they are pretty much the #1's on their teams) giving me a goaltending line of:
Backstrom (drafted)
Roloson
Jean-Sebastian Giguere
