I was one of the people who thought LEbron was a complete ass for leaving cleveland. I hope the heat do not win this year. My god will i have to root for the Lakers?!!! This commercial is complete genius. It tackles a lot of the media hype and allows the world to see a little clearer into "the decision." He intelligently attacks comments charles barkley made about his legacy and eats a pink donut. marc cuban said that james had lost half of his brand equity in one day when he left cleveland. the evil genius marketing department at Nike will have something to say about that. they are already doing a good job of making the public think about lebron, and see him less in the light of a villain.

Nike is pure evil genius. For the learned hip hop scholars we are gonna do this like an old highlights magazines. You watch this old lebron commercial and tell me how many possible drug references are in it. Nike would claim otherwise, but it seems to me Nike was encouraging kids to sell drugs and buy their shoes.

First, Nike marketing is genius. Second, I liked the first ad and the second as well. Third, not entirely sure where you are getting the drug reference from the 2nd ad (unless you're drawing a correlation between powdered drugs (coke) and the talcum powder that he tosses into the air - which the ad displays everyone else doing as well).

Either way - thanks for sharing these. Since I rarely turn the TV on, I'd likely have missed them.

There are too many coincidences. remember the target audience is people who would buy lebron shoes. these commercials are marketed towards urban youths and young males between the ages of 6-30. The images in these commercials are very much symbols.

The song playing is saying "The candyman is back." I have never heard of Lebron "king" James being nicknamed candyman. Candymen are drug dealers. DEAL!
It cuts to bakers baking the powder. CRACK!
It cuts to the barber shop, everyone in the hood knows these are drug fronts. Anyways what do you do at the barbershop? CUT! You cut! CUT!
It cuts to kids playing around in school with powder. The shot is of a childs hands scraping through a large heap of white powder. SCARFACE!
It cuts to LIL WAYNE! A rapper who raps about selling crack. He brushes the dust off his new lebron sneakers. MONEY!
