The issue with using a more advanced graphing calculator on exams is that it solves the problems numerically. It gives you solutions that are only good approximations of the correct answers. You'll get the same answer to within a certain percent with either the numerical approach or the elegant approach, but the tests are looking for the elegant answer, which often time is quite easy to find as long as you commit to memory a few simple methods such as separation of variables, Fourier Integrals, integration by parts, etc. A little bit of work pays big dividends.

I am getting faster, and have become more acquainted with fractions and all the rules involved - more so than I've ever wanted. I will say thought that I'm surprised at how many I've gotten right through simple math and some educated guesses... I might not do as bad as I thought.
