Re: 1/3 of a class caught cheating
I think he's bluffing as well. You can analyze data all you want, but you can't tell the difference in struggling throughout the first part of the class and studying your ass off to ace the mid term from cheating. And I for one would be pissed as fuck if somebody punished me for cheating because of my grade improving. Like he said, he could put together a list and be 95% sure all of the cheaters are on there (yet there would be others who would be as well), but he can't have a list and be 100% sure that everybody on it cheated. I don't see any more data analysis doing that. It would be reckless to punish them for cheating if they didn't have that 100% certainty.

Well, what I think would happen is that he could hand the list over to the academic affairs department so that they could investigate further, I agree 100% certainty is an impossibility but most schools have due process proceedings for stuff like this. Now if you were a C student in all of your classes and you just "happened" to pull a 100% on this particular midterm out of your ass I think that is fishy has hell. According to the article I got this from more than 200 students came forward. In all honesty he probably wanted to fail all of them, but it would have been impossible for the university to process that many students, and the subsequent lawsuits.

I heard about this report... the guy they interview was probly as guilty for cheating as everyone else....
If your going to cheat the system... everyone who has a record of you cheating at a final or big test they won't hire you because they will just see you cutting corners and slacking off the job...
Heck if your a sports player or trying to get a degree in coaching who would dare to actually get you a coaching job or let you play some professional sport game... weather its the simplest of games, Esports or just professional level who would actually believe you are really playing it like its suppose to....
Cheating is just like serving jail time once people see it your going to have a bad time finding a job in your career...
