Thread: BP Can Suck It!!!!!!!!!

So I was working as an accountant for a restaurant in the french quarter (in New Orleans), that had a lot of seafood on the menu. After the BP oil spill we lost about 60-70% of our sales. The restaurant had cancellations of parties, gatherings, etc... which is where they make the majority of their money. The servers lost tons of money in tips due to less business and filed lost wages claims, and received a large sum of money for their losses.

Because of all the lost sales, my hours were cut by more than half and my pay remained the same (after 2 years of working there) b/c they didn't have the money to give me a raise. So I filed a lost wages claim, basing my claim on what I was making before the spill compared to what I was making after the spill and factored in the market rate for someone of my position and experience.

I filed the claim and they just today wired $1000 to my account as an emergency payment FOR SIX MONTHS............YES IN 6 MONTHS, I'VE LOST ONLY $1000 IN WAGES/INCOME.......YES, I LOST APPROXIMATELY $41 PER WEEK IN ALL THIS MESS...........HOLY FUCKING MOTHER OF SON OF A BITCH!!!!!!!!!! THAT DOESN'T EVEN MAKE SENSE.

Real shit of it is, I know people who weren't affected that filed, and got like $15,000 right off the bat. BP has pissed me off royally.
