...you prepare for death.
I don't know what it is lately, but my dreams have been so morbid as of late. Maybe it's the fact that my grandfather wont be around much longer or that there has just been a lot of changes in my life in general, but death is invading my dreams quite a bit lately.
I always have super vivid dreams. I mean ALWAYS, every single night. I wake up feeling exhausted half the time, because my dreams take me on extreme adventures of sorts that just never slow down. Anyways, part of my dream last night involved me being a passenger on an airliner. For some reason I could see the sky straight ahead of us, kind of like a huge glass window, seemed perfectly normal. The plane dips forward towards to the earth and the captain comes on the overead saying, "Folks, it looks like we have to turn it around and make an emergency landing." As I'm staring forward at the Earth steadily comig towards us, I knew something was wrong. The plane at this point was pretty much heading straight down to the earth. We were going to crash and we were all going to die. In a way it was a bit calming knowing we were all in this together, but there was an eery silence amongst us all before impact. I remember thinking, "What's going to happen?" "What is death going to be like?" "Is my consciousness going to survive" "Oh God, I'm not ready..."
..........and then impact.
I'm late for a meeting, but I'll elaborate a bit more later...Last edited by Toker; 11-24-10 at 10:23 AM.

After that impact, I was indeed dead, but WTF I was still thinking.... a split second later I was sitting up in bed...
I'm not really worried or gonna get worked up about life after death, what comes next, or anything religious, but what I am kinda intrigued about is consciousness during clinical death. They say that the science of these "consciousness events" may be somewhat similar to the relation between Newtonian physics and quantum physics. "Scientists once believed that Newtonian physics could answer all the questions in the universe. When they ventured into the sub-atomic realm, though, Newtonian physics no longer applied. But quantum physics did. Similarly, the near-death experience could be another state of consciousness with a different set of rules than what we currently understand, and beyond the limits of what current scientific methods can explain."

Death isn't so bad when you actually have to face it. What's scarier are the choices you might feel compelled to make at death's door.
enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P
Bigdog-Sweet home Alabama you are an idiot.

Re: ...you prepare for death.
I have pretty crazy dreams but rarely remember them. Sometimes I recognize common themes from my daily life or thoughts, then other times they are very random. The strange part is when you have a dream the you live something similar a few months later.
