Sam Adams Winter Lager

I'm a fan of the Winter, I think it's probably better than last year. My favorite seasonal is probably Hoptober (New Belgium), it's just super hoppy and amazing. I do like shiner too and when I don't want to spend the $4.50 for the more expensive domestics / imports.. I stick with shiner.

I bought another case of Winter Lager. Maybe it was just a bad first batch that made it up by me... Heres hoping at least.

Shiner has their Holiday Cheer brew again this year. Made with Peaches and Pecans. It's not terribly sweet, thankfully.

Of the Sam Adams seasonals, the Double Bock and Octoberfest are my favs.

I'm not usually one for fruity beer or any of the Christmas spice tasting stuff. I'd still like to give the holiday cheer a try, but unfortunately pecans = death.

I've had an off sixer of Sam Adams before. Sometimes I think they have an 'end batch' or 'start batch' of some beers they make that is a bit off. I was reading on another site that folks had experienced it and when comparing numbers on the bottle they were around the same. Sam Adams is a really big micro brew, so it is to be expected that they don't have exactly the same taste every year.

I liked the Octoberfest this year but it was a bit sweet. I drink the Light they make as my casual beer and switch up with some Red every now and then when I want something with a bit more umph.
