No joke. I do comm for the AF and we were working out on the control tower with airfield maint. (they work on the ATC tower electronics) trying to troubleshoot something a few months ago...one of their guys knocked his tool bag off the tower(we were on the roof) and it put a 1 ft crater in the asphalt. I've got no idea how far the drop was but that tool bag weighed somewhere between 30-50 pounds...all I know for sure is that it was significantly less than either of those buildings in the videos lol

edit: actually the crater was probably more like 6-10 inches but still

The helmets are for when they fall to the end of their safety ropes they dont whack their melons on a cross bar... NOT for hitting the ground after a 1000+ foot fall to the ground...

I don't know about you but 1768 feet of rope would be very heavy.....this is why they carry their own tool bags.
climbing my 105' ladder truck is nothing compared to this.....INSANE!!!!
