Thread: Why I Hate Microsoft

I bought BioShock 2 and started playing, not knowing that you are required to be logged into Windows Live to save. I am about an hour in and I want to save when I realize this, so I go to sign in and my email was no longer associated with an account. So I minimize my game and make an account. Open the game back up to sign in so I can save and it says I need to update before I can sign in. Once it updates it tells you it will need to reset the game and your computer and to save your game before it does.... But you can't sign in until the update has completed. So I lost my first hour of play time, but that is just the start.

Once I launch the game back up it seems Microsoft has made an Xbox live gamer tag for my new windows live account. Apparently my old Xbox Live account, though I have been getting emails for it for the past 2 years or inactivity, is not tied to an Windows Live account or manageable from a PC at all. So here starts the process of getting my new Windows Live account tied to my old Xbox Live account which they have been sending me emails for for the last 2 years. (Both with same name)

I had to go log onto my Xbox360, since you can only edit Xbox Live account ON YOUR XBOX. I had to add the new BS gamer tag to my system and log in, go into settings and change the Windows Live ID associated with it to a new one to free up my old account. So I made a new Windows Live ID and paired it with the Gamer Tag it made for me so I could log into my original Gamer Tag and pair it with the now unpaired windows live ID that has my BioShock 2 CD Key registered on.

Now MY Gamer Tag and MY Windows Live accounts are together with MY CD Key registered to them. I also went back and changed the Gamer Tag it picked for me to the same name and the BS Windows Live account I made to pair with it. So everything is how I want it but it took 30+ min an Xbox360 and a Computer and the creation of a new Xbox Live Gamer Tag and Windows Live ID I will never use again.

So I guess I did have a use for the Windows Live Account they made me make, it is now my 'parents'.

lol...that sucks. I have Blacklight: Tango Down...which requires it too.

I've had a hotmail account for over 10 years, but after reading that...i may never install that game.
