Hello from Italy
Hey guys had some freetime thought i'd drop a line from Italy.
Having a blast let me know if there is anything cool i should be doing.
Im currently outside of Milan at Lake Como, but will be traveling to Florence and Rome in 2 days.
Though not is all well here, i am feeling pretty sick, i must of eaten something that didnt sit well, but none the less trying to have a blast.
My final question, im a little hesitant to ask this in the forums but w/e.
Im going to ask my girlfriend father for her hand in marriage.....how does one do that?
Do i beat around the bust or just straight up ask?
I know now adays some girls say its a must to ask and some would rather not....just needing some advice, both traveling advice and marriage advice.

Re: Hello from Italy
I got married last Nov 13, I had gotten free tickets to vegas and I took my girl there and while there I was like, "oh look, you can take a helicopter into the grand canyon and get married, wanna do it?" We were married the next day.
Asking a father is OLD style, but it's a great way to get a respect boost from the father. I wouldn't think the girls would have an opinion either way when it comes to asking the father because it's not like the decision is out of their hands. Most likely there isn't a specific way of doing it, if there was then everybody would be copying each other. I think you should just give a knock on his door and get straight to the point. Anyways, congrats on the engagement, or future engagement, wish I could give better advice.
Oh and lucky lucky you are in Italy, drink some wine while you are there. Best advice I've given!!

Re: Hello from Italy
I already had a good relationship with my In Laws before my wife and I got married so it was easy for me to ask him for permission. I just came straight out with it one day when he and I were talking. I told him my plans of how I wanted to propose and said I would like to have his permission before hand.
Good Luck and Congrats!!
