Student loans... What to do until then?
So I assume many of you are students or prior students and have run into this error before. I got into college and doing great. Now I lose my job and am stuck with bills coming in and 2+ months until Student Loans / Grants arrive. How do we survive until then? I just got here as semester started so jobs are tanked being in a HUGE college town. Are there other ways to access the money early or anything? Companies that help you until they arrive. Family isn't an option for me due to lack of.

have you had any recent tats? you could donate plasma?
lol in all seriousness though; you could take out another student loan maybe? there are usually tons of jobs on campus! what is your major? many professors offer part time payment for grading assistance and supplemental instruction for previous courses. tutoring? I would ask your professors or an academic advisor, they always are up to date on job opportunities.

The on campus jobs have been filled and almost everything in the surrounding town. I have applied at ever business I can find. Currently about 175 applications out. I am good at my classes, but not on a tutor level by any means.

I will see what I can do about that. I checked with most banks and they don't offer personal loans to my college (stupid podunk ass college). This is what I get for moving back to Mississippi. Last time I ever return home to help family OMG. So yeah my financial aid department is like well sir.. You can wait until loans get here in March.
!*(@#$&@#$!*#$ LADY I have to pay rent, car insurance, phone, ETC.. TO MAKE IT UNTIL MARCH.. I need money NOW OK. WHAT can YOU DO!!!

You cut the cell phone contract down to minimum, cancel your cable, possibly cancel your internet and just do your schoolwork at school. After that, you sell some stuff.
Back in 2003, I was in the same situation. I had a job, but it simply wasn't enough to cover everything, so I started to get rid of the luxuries. No cell phone, no cable, no going out with friends. Hell, I even sold my TV, my PS2, my DVD player, and a couple guitars just to make it through the summer until my next student loan came in the Spring.
But I kept working, and before you I knew it, within a year I had received two promotions at work, my salary had doubled, and things were getting right back on track. The best advice I can give you is to keep working hard. Keep trying to find work, no matter how nasty or embarrassing the job may be. Hell, even minimum wage is better than no wage at all.
Make sure you keep a roof over your head and legal transportation to get you back and forth for school. You are struggling now, but honestly, struggling was the best thing that ever happened to me. Be careful with the loans... they stack up fast.
