Selling computers on craigslist...
Man I fucking hate doing it...
It's so much worse then selling anything else on CL (ok maybe not cars, since I've never done that).
But people try and sell their 5 year old gateway POS systems for $800.... and then when you put out a really reasonable price on whatever you are selling they all email you asking if you'll settle for a 10% of your asking price...
Or the guy who's trying to sell his 'custom computer' (that looks suspiciously exactly like a 4 year old HP) with a a "1 TB graphics card". I shit you not: Nice Gaming PC Featuring 3.0GHZ int CPU and 1TB Video Card Fast!!!
FFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU....
Computer shit is worth a pretty definite price. I did my fucking homework and figured out how much the laptop I'm trying to sell is worth. I am not unreasonable. But all I get is lowballing and people who don't know shit about what they want.
So... anyone want to buy a little ultra portable laptop?

I was laughing when he said "Intel pentium 530 CPU at 3.00GHZ: This processor packs awesome power and is fully capable of running windows vista or 7 in 32 or 64 bit mode and then some."
But even better?
"-40gb 7200 rpm sata hard drive. This is enough space to put plenty of songs and movies and games. It is very upgradable as well so when you run out you can just add a drive. This is an ultra quiet and ultra fast drive."
MAYBE i could install 4 games on that.
Icing on the cake?
"-Nvidia Geforce 9500 GT w/ 1TB video ram. Yes you read this right it has 1 full Terrabyte of video ram for gaming. This video card can rock pretty much any game. Has excellent dual screen support and supports SLI as well. Will most certainly take your gaming and any digital or 3-D applications to new heights!!"
AHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH!

It isn't anything real special and is about 3 years old.
Sager NP7250 Specs
It has the Core 2 Duo T5500 (1.66GHz)
1 GB ram
120 Gb hard drive
Wifi b/g
DVD drive
webcam
Win XP Pro installed and with the disks.
I'm also throwing in a really nice Tom Bihn padded case for it.
(and it's battery is dead, but they only cost about $60)
It's no where near top of the line, but compared to the shit people are selling on CL it is really a decent computer.Last edited by Arreo; 02-06-11 at 05:37 PM.

Didn't you know that 1024 MB = 1 TB?

Re: Selling computers on craigslist...
I hate it when I get a call for a laptop I have the says AS IS doesnt work right asking if it will work for their kids because they want to use iTunes... No, IT DOESNT WORK. Some people must not be able to read... Other bad one was when I sold my 18 year old Macintosh and a lady called me asking if it would run her kids games. I told her no, it ONLY has a floppy drive.... She was like oh... I wonder about people sometimes :/
