Thread: Freeze Plugs....

Looks like a freeze plug or two on my truck blew out during the freeze a couple weeks ago, and the ones right between the Engine Block and the Transmission.....

Here's hoping one of my cousins have the tools to pull the engine and do it. While we pull the engine might as well replace the fender, too, I guess...

I doubt it was the weather as antifreeze has something like a -34F freeze point. Core plug failures are mostly from corrosion. Is the antifreeze old?

My radiator has been having a slow leak for the past 6 months, so instead of filling it with Anti-Freeze every 2 weeks I have been putting in straight water.

If there is cold beer involved I may be tempted to load my tools... Bad part is, my truck is doa, so I cant bring an engine lift or my rollaway. Need to drag the bitch into the shop and tear it apart, just havent cleaned out enough room...

Hmmmm, might have consider using this as an excuse to do a complete clean up on the truck.might as well do everything else while the engine is out.
