    ESPN's 30 for 30

Has anyone else watched any of these yet? My brother got the boxed set, and I saw most of them when they originally aired on espn. Some of these are really good and others are quite blah. So far the best ones that I have seen: The U, The Best that Never Was, June 17, 1994, Pony Exce$$, The Two Escobars.

The U I thought was fantastic. The filmmaker did a very good job with explaining how Miami came to be a powerhouse in the 80's and the sanctions that resulted from their style. Overall it was very good.

The Best That Never Was is also another very good one and considered one of the bests in the series so far. It goes into depth of the rise and fall of Marcus Dupree, who was a highly recruited RB out of high school.

June 17, 1994 is by far the most interesting take on doing a documentary. It is solely TV coverage from that day and no interviews at all. It was quite literally amazing to see all the sports related stories that occurred on that day. Arnold Palmers last US open round of golf, NY Rangers Stanley Cup victory parade, NBA finals game, opening of the World Cup in Chicago and lest we not all forget the infamous OJ Simpson chase.

Pony Exce$$ is about SMU and the Death Penalty sanction they recieved by the NCAA for illegal recruiting for their football team. Very well done and another one that is very interesting.

The Two Escobars is about the Columbian Soccer star who scored on his own goal in the World Cup in 1994 against the USA and Pablo Escobar the drug lord. Very interesting to see how Pablo was involved with soccer in Columbia and how the other Escobar was treated in Columbia after that game.

Whats everyone elses's thoughts on this series if you have seen them?

Yea I mostly love all of the ESPN's 30 for 30. I gotta say my favorite one is the Reggie Miller vs New York Knicks and how he just destroyed the New York Knicks after Spike Lee had to start talking trash to him from court side. The Death Penalty of SMU football program was crazy and I still think the punishment doesn't fit the crime, I know they were caught in paying some players but still. To have your whole program killed and school spirit drained and just fucked them up beyond repair. Guru of Go was also a good one

I loved the one about Miami (The U) and the one with Vlade Divac.

Pony Exce$$ is the only one I can remember seeing, and it was pretty good.

Right now watching The Fab Five (I think it is part of 30 for 30, but may not be), which I didn't plan to see, but has drawn me in and is really interesting
