    Snap-on ratchet question

Does anyone have any experience with Snap-on locking flex head ratchets? My question in paticular is does the locking just mean a detent ball or is there an actual device that lockes it at the angle you set it at?

not sure, but snapon is expensive as hell. good stuff and convenient but way to damn expensive. I use craftsman tools cause they are much cheaper and get th job done just as well.

Student discount for a couple more months until I graduate on Snap-On and Matco. Makes it equivilet or cheaper then Craftsman.
This is the one I am considering: FX80, Ratchet, Sealed Head, Dual 80 Technology, Locking Flex Head, 3/8" drive, 11 1/4"

Here is a comfort grip one with a picture: FHX80, Ratchet, Dual 80 Technology, Locking Flex Head, Comfort Grip, 3/8" drive, 11 7/8"

It looks like a detent ball to me, I just want to be sure.

Something to think about but if you buy those and they break getting them replaced can be a pain in the ass. Unless of course you work at an automotive facility. Yes those are detent.

    I stand corrected.
"Repairable joint and lock mechanism." They actually have a lock.

I will be working at a dealership. Guess I will need to demo one on the truck to see if It will match my preferances.

Take advantage of the discount while you can! The trucks at the shop are not so cheap! Convenient, but never affordable.

Yep, just spent 800 just on detail equipment, but that also gave me 50 percent of a lucrative detail shop. Takes money to make money I guess....
