Is it stealing to go on youtube.com to listen to a song you like without paying for it?

Is it stealing to put you mic up to the speaker to make a recording of that song?

If Win7 comes with a program specifically for recording audio, are they assisting in stealing?

What if I told you there was a way to record that song from youtube.com at the same audio quality its being sent using nothing more then the basic software in Win7?

Is it stealing to make your own copy of a CD/DVD that you borrow/rent? Doesn't windows have software that does that as well?

The music industry freaked out when people could buy a stereo with a cassette recorder in it some 40 years ago too because people were recording the radio at a high quality stereo level. Frankly... I don't care one way or another.

I would say yes because, your paying to use the product for a limited time. Creating a file of said item for further use after the contract has ended.... Windows doesn't include software for DvDs to my knowledge, you have to DL a program for that.

But over the internet, like Kanati put up, that product is being put out there for free*. * the advertisements you have to face to get said good.

There was no contract when I borrowed a movie from Kanati, so I can copy that DVD, give his back, and keep my copy to watch whenever I want?

I think there are probably thousands of ways to justify it, but my guess would be if you asked a judge he would say it is illegal.
