Thread: Bean counters

Look, I totally get that austerity is necessary, but when you have the budget (in real non-borrowed dollars), I don't see the point of denying funds especially if you've already made spending cuts to your program.

This stems from what I just recently learned. Our Union Board was going to be putting on a $70k concert featuring the Benjy Davis Project. They went and signed all of the contracts already. However, the just heard back from the bean counters who have said that they will not authorize more than $10k for the concert.

This also means that the budget for my station's music festival is also likely to get cut down to $4k from $7k if we're lucky. We were going to be having a headliner come in from New York, but now, that's out of the question.
