Explosion by my DQ!
So today I get a call from my employees telling me that they heard an explosion and saw smoke from a few stores down. At first, I didn't think much of it because we still had power and everyone was OK. I decided to go down there and check out the scene, but was quickly surprised to see the roads were closed around my store. I was even more surprised to see helicopters hovering over the area and smoke billowing up in the air. I remembered that AJ, a fellow TPGer also known as "buscuits and gravy", works right near our store at his Dad's Tire shop. I called him and got no answers and my employees were told by the police to stay indoors. Confused and slightly worried about AJ, I drove home to turn on the news and saw live overhead shots of our DQ and a fire a little ways down right next to where AJ works. On fire was a strip mall that has a family dentistry and a tax service store. Nothing shocking like this usually happens (except for the epic Nashville flood that wiped out one of our stores last year), so I was quite astonished. Finally I get a text from AJ about 45 minutes after I got home saying, "can't talk, getting interviewed by a few news stations " Apparently there was an ammunition store (had no clue one existed there?!) that exploded with a few people inside and once AJ got to the scene, live ammunition was still firing.
The full story will be on the news tonight in my local area on several stations and CNN contacted AJ and asked to use his footage and gave him 200 dollars. Kinda cool.
Oh, and here is a link to a preliminary story of what happened. Just watch the video.

Anyways, just thought Id share the story of my interesting day and get AJ some face time.
