"Occasional problems on this vehicle are failures of the Ignition Switch and Body Control Module (BCM). Failure of the Ignition Switch or BCM may prevent the engine from starting. Refer to TSB #04-08-45-005D for further information. The cost to repair the Ignition Switch is estimated at $37.09 for parts and $65.00 for labor. The cost to repair the BCM is estimated at $365.00 for parts and $84.50 for labor. All prices are estimates based on $65.00 per flat rate hour and do not include diagnostic time or applicable taxes."

Does make me wonder why they racked you over the coals before if this is such a common problem that 2003 and 04 ion had a recall for it.

So, apparently my fuse box needs replacing as well...yippee. They don't have that either. It might be overnightable, or it might take a week to get shipped. It'll take longer to get fixed what with the 4th coming up. /facedesk

Alright, some good news: my mom is contact with a customer assistance rep at GM who is specifically in charge of cases like mine. I'm hoping I get a full refund!
