06-11-11, 04:03 PM #1Concacaf Gold Cup 2011
There's been alot of stuff going on in sports lately. Anybody keeping up with the gold cup? This will give us a great indication of the team we will be taking to the confederations cup in Brazil in 2013 the summer before the next world cup.
Thoughts? predictions? comments?
I for one am thouroughly impressed with Chicharito after his year with Manchester United. He is putting on one heck of a show for Mexico with a hat trick in Mexico's 5-0 win over El Salvador and his 2 goals in Mexico's 5-0 defeat over Cuba on thursday. They are looking great as a whole, Chicharito and dos Santos bring a young livelyness to the front of the pitch they lacked for a short while.
The USA is also looking good after our 2-0 win over Canada last Tuesday. Dempsey and Altidore both with Goals. We played very well as a unit, came out strong in the first half which is something we have been lacking and fought all the way to the end of the game with only one yellow card.
My one big concern is the wingers on that left side. Whenever Dempsey made a break for the goal, the cross always came from the right side. we very much favored that side of the field the whole match which puts a lot of pressure on Altidore who just doesn't have the speed to make it up to the box that quickly. Granted this was our first match with this team in recent times so it make take them a little bit to get back into top form, but for the most part, very good performance.
bahaha these highlights are worth watching just for the announcers...this is the reason amercians shouldn't ever host the commentary
Jamaica is looking pretty stellar with 2 wins in the group play so far, they could be a sleeper team for the quarter finals...
Honduras came back from their first draw with a stellar 7-1 win over Grenada this week also, after that first disappointing match they looked pretty good again.

I haven't been watching (haven't found the times they are happening and where to see them), though I heard the US lost to Panama today. Are going to watch England v. Spain in the U21 Euros tomorrow? Should be interesting to see all the young starlets (it should be on ESPN3.com).

I'll just leave this shit right here.
I was unable to watch the final game or many others for that matter. I was able to watch USA beat Jamaica.
However - this is bullshit

Didn't get to watch the game, but I heard the presentation at the end of the game being done in Spanish cause a huge uproar. Not to mention the fact that 75% of the fans there were cheering on Mexico when the US was the home team.
Probably should have had it in another part of the country aside from the Southwest if they didn't want to have this issue.
Even still may have been an issue, but I know the Seattle area seems to be hardcore American soccer.Last edited by rock_lobster; 06-28-11 at 09:24 PM.

Didn't you already make a thread for this? Why don't you just post there or respond to what I stated:
