06-13-11, 04:46 AM #1You lose your Cat
So yea...I'm still up hoping that my cat will come to my back door. I lost him earlier today around 5pm. I live in a residential area and am hoping that he didn't go to far. I went looking for him, two blocks deep and two blocks right and left, with food and a toy, but didn't find anything. This is my first pet and I bought him myself....feels like I lost a child. I really hope he comes back
Any suggestions would be welcomed.
Let me know if you see him

Re: You lose your Cat
As I was saying in game last night... I have two cats. They NEVER go outside. But one of them kept wanting to do so so I let it out in the front yard. It didn't know how to get over the chain link fence after watching it for a while so I let it out occasionally for about a week or so. Well she eventually found a way under the fence and when I went to get her in just after dark, she was gone. My screen door has a flap in the lower window where the screen is broken. But it made a nice cat door so I left it messed up.
I live alone and at the time it was reasonably cold so I couldn't leave the front door open on the off chance she would come back. I told a friend about it about a week later having decided that she was gone for good and she and I went back to my house. I was talking about the cat as I walked up the sidewalk with her and noticed the front door was open. Yes. I don't know how, but the cat had come back and opened the front door as well to let herself back in. She must have went in through the screen and got between the doors and kept pushing until she opened the main door. I must not have closed it all the way when I left that morning.
So... moral of the story... cats come back. And if it doesn't, likely some other family found it and is taking good care of it. And never underestimate a cat. I've had cats that have taken out german shepherds before. I'd much rather fight bare handed a rottweiller than a pissed off cat.

Re: You lose your Cat
I understand the child feeling, my dog ran across the highway and I was terrified because he saw me and started coming back when a car was coming, he stopped and then ran to me. I picked him up and carried him inside. I would be devastated if something happened to him. But cats disappear, there is one that hangs out at work and it will be gone for a couple weeks then show back up.
