Do you gamble?

So I hit up casino's every now and again, and lately have been trying my hand at black jack. Tonight though, I learned how to play craps......went in with $40, and walked out with $350 2.5 hours later. I'm hooked.

Any fellow TPGers dabble in the sinful ways of casino gaming?

I play black jack and slots. the occasional scratch off.

I used to play the slots, but after a while, I figured my odds were better with black jack. I studied up on it and learned a good bit of the probabilities and even how to do some basic counting. Never really did anything with it though.

I know it makes no sense in any form or fashion , I know the machines are on a chip that keeps it random. I know what I am about to say is going to get me ridiculed. But the machines talk to me! I know which ones will hit and when they wont. I cant explain it, I just walk the casino floor and eventually one will "talk" to me and It will always pay out big for me.

A friend of mine was the luckiest guy I ever knew he'd pick up a scratch off , off the street and it would be a winner like 500 dollars not 2 dollars. we'd go to the casino and he'd just say if you listen they will tell you. eventually they did.

My mother sister and brother all laughed at me when I told them this when we went together last. That was until I took each of em through the casino and told them which machines to play and when to get off. a 1k dollars later for each of em and they were believers.

I know it is ridiculous and there is not a shred of sound or scientific reasoning behind it but I tell you the machines talk to me.

also I like the lights and sounds of the machines it's like watching TV except I can win money LOL.

I play black jack when I don't have a lot of cash to blow you can play all night on 100 dollars if you know what your doing and still have that 100 bucks when your done.

Hey dude, you don't need science or reasoning when you consistently walk out ahead several hundred in cash. haha

I like winning money, I mean who doesn't? But sometimes it's not even winning the money that makes me keep playing. I just like to play the games .

I'll set a limit for myself when I walk in (generally $40-$60) and when it's gone, it's gone. Once I've doubled my money, I immediately stick my original amount in chips in my pocket so I don't spend it. I just love games too much...and if I can win money playing them? Forget about it, I'm hooked.

I'll go generally with 100 bucks. Once I double it I take the original amount and I put it away then play off my winnings. when I reach another hundred, I take that and put it away, rinse and repeat.

So say I go with 100 dollars and I win an additional 125 dollars. I now have $225, 200 goes into my pocket and I play on that 25 left over. If I lose it I am done but if i make it to another hundred + then another 100 goes in my pocket and I carry on etc. I leave way ahead of the game....generally. I mean I have walked into a casino and in 5 minutes lost it all. It does happen but albeit rarely to me.

the games are fun, the drinks are strong and free, it really isn't a bad way to spend an evening once or twice a year.

been a looong time since i had money i could gamble but i used to play slots roulette never had much luck though

Way I see it is, I'll spend $40 having a good time for 5-6 hours somewhere else, at least at the casino I can get free drinks.

That's exactly the way I see it when I gamble. When I go to Vegas I usually play 5 dollar blackjack and always min bet but still double down or split when its appropriate. I also play craps a lot with my brothers, its a streaky game and you can lose/win money faster. Still though its exciting when your on a good streak because everyone at the table cheers and tells you how great you are lol
