Re: Soo.... Any photographers out there?
I am very much a photographer. I like to shoot stills (landscapes, macro...), but I will shoot whatever event someone I know wants me to.
I use my flickr as a backup solution and don't do too much weeding or editing before putting my photos up on there, but have a look if you would like:

.
Here is one of my more impressive shots that I took. It is a panoramic of the Washington D.C. National Cathedral.
Please click the link to the photo as that will do it more justice than the attached version.
It is a stitch from 38 individual photos with all the people edited out best as I could. There are a few mistakes that I know of, one from a miss-focused photo, but not much I could do after the fact.
The copy on flickr is reduced to fit flickr's image size requirements, but I do have a print of this beuty and its 86" by 14"

Re: Soo.... Any photographers out there?
Thanks Alundil!
As for Rush, sick pano. Yeah I like to do panos a lot as well, lately though I don't have my Manfrotto pano-head (since it really isn't mine, it's my teacher's). Landscapes and stills are fun! I don't really like events since I just don't have the gear to do it, and I don't really trust myself to get "the moment".
BTW I forgot to ask,
Cloud and Rush, what's your camera setup?

Need to get back into photography... I like doing landscapes as well, but I don't really like the place where I live, which kinda discourages me from snapping a few shots.
If I get out to the ocean (somewhat likely soon), I am definitely taking a few photos. Why no rank?
Because that isn't why or how I play.

Re: Soo.... Any photographers out there?
Rush--great pano! I took a look at some of your Flickr stuff--that signature you did in your light painting set could make a cool watermark.
Shinobi--I'm currently using a Canon 40D (upgraded from the 10D). I really, really want a full-frame Canon--but holy shit they're expensive! My lens selection is rather meager. My walk-around lens is the Canon 17-85mm. I like it's range but it's a mediocre lens. I also have the 50mm f1.8, the 28-135mm, and the 70-200L (great lens!). Right now I'm torn between getting a nice wide angle "L" lens or upgrading to the Canon 7D--the prices are close to the same.
Dusk--I don't know where in CO you are--but I know of a bunch of absolutely gorgeous areas there. More than likely, though, you know them better than I.

Re: Soo.... Any photographers out there?
Daym Cloud that's defiantly a sweet setup. Better than mines at least. I'd defiantly stick to the 1.6x, also if you upgrade to the 7D that's not full framed either! If you upgrade, I think the 60D is a sweet camera to get. But the 40D isn't a crappy camera at all. A nice wide lens would do wonders with it. Maybe say the 24-70 2.8L, I've had my eye on that lens or the 17-40 4L just have no money to buy it. Haha.
Psyched to see your work! But there should defiantly be some awesome sights in CO, or so I hear. Defiantly snap us a shot some day (in the near future)

Re: Soo.... Any photographers out there?
I blew my money on the camera body and don't have many lenses for it, but currently I have a 7D with:
18-135mm 3.5-5.6
and
50mm 1.8 (nifty fifty)
For tripod I have a super oldschool steel (internet says aluminum, don't believe them) tripod from world war 2.... the thing is basically indestructible, but it is heavy. It has any range of motion you could want, but it isn't a ball head. (If you want I can take a pic of it) Its a: Tiltall Tripod Professional #4602

Re: Soo.... Any photographers out there?
Ahhh the 7D is def a sweet camera. I actually have my eye on the newer updates, the 60D specifically. That twistable screen is such a positive. Specially the new wireless transmitter for portable strobes. That's some sick additions.
Oh I've handheld panos too, but I find the results to be not as perfect as having an actually tripod pano-head.

Re: Soo.... Any photographers out there?
Holy shit! 83 photos is impressive! Nice job. I'm curious as to what you used to stitch them? Did you use Photoshop or did you use another specialized program? Did you have to stitch any of it manually?
For mine, I use PS. All of my panoramas are hand held, as I can't currently afford any more accoutrements. But I've yet to try a multi-row pano. Here's a few of mine:
One of the homes of my ex-boss. Interesting (?) story there.... This is right on the Wyoming/Colorado border. Eight photos.
From the Shirley Mountains in central WY. I used to live right on a ranch at the base of the mountain you see in the distance on the right. Ten photos.
This is just east of Dubois, WY. We have a ranch a few miles from here. Twelve photos--and better seen larger here.
The actual original on my hard drive is 110 inches. I was waiting for better light, but had to hurry because the snow storm to the north (on the left) was moving in very quickly....
