Yeah, but Canada is still way cooler. So the 13.5% or whatever is totally worth it.

Edit: Although without turning your post into a debate topic, you can't really compare the two. Canada has a completely different system that offers its citizens a lot more in return for that percentage of taxes. Healthcare costs would be one big example.

when i was jobless i would much rather work shit hours for shit pay over no hours with no pay
