Basketball, track and field, soccer, golf, and the list goes on... You know, there are other sports besides football. Even then, UT has only won one national title in football lately. The other 3 are from the 60's and 70's.

    Haters gonna hate.

Not as far as revenue sharing is concerned. Texas is basically hoarding all of the money, probably because they bring most of it in, but at the same time, need teams like baylor, iowa state, etc.... to maintain a suitable conference for them to play in. The Longhorn network was the last straw for A&M. They don't want to play second fiddle to big brother anymore. Honestly, if A&M wants to give back all that money to leave, as a Big 12 member, I say let them. Baylor is worried that they will be left in the cold, which is dumb, because that is inevitable.

If anything, if the Big 12 is to remain, they will bring in rinky dink teams that are no where near the caliber of Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, etc....At least then they could have a chance to actually win a title within their own division.

My only worry is that we will have the PAC 16 and the SEC (with 14 teams), along with the Big Ten (with whoever they bring in)...yet we will still have a ridiculously weak, Big 12 now, a cleaned out ACC and a still mediocre at best Big East. We will have teams like NC state going to BCS bowl games playing against BYU or Baylor in the Fiesta Bowl.

I think having that scenario will force a playoff system....because money will be at stake.

I could easily see the PAC, SEC, Big 10, and ACC all going to 16, and leaving the other conferences to soak up the also rans. Then, if we are lucky there will be a 4 team playoff of the "super" conference champions.

My point is, if oklahoma, texas, oklahoma state, etc go to the PAC, and VaTech, Mizzou, A&M, Florida State, go to the SEC....who is a year in year out powerhouse left in the other conferences? You'll have 3 big teams from PAC, SEC and BIG 10, then auto bids for a shallow Big 12, Big East and ACC. for a power conference set up, you would need more than just a 4 team playoff.

The way I see it working is that the best schools from the Big 12 go to the SEC, Pac, and Big 10, and then the power schools from the ACC and Big East come together. That gives you 4 power conferences with 16 teams each. Those 4 conferences each have 2 divisions with 8 teams each. Just like they do now the 2 division winners play to have a conference champion. The 4 conference champions play 3 games to determine the national champion. You only add 1 game to the schedule of 2 teams. Totally doable.

    Oh yeah, suck it a&m.

Pac-12 working on deal for Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Texas Tech, according to report - ESPN

The Pac-12 is working on a deal to bring Big 12 schools Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Texas Tech to the conference, according to a report by the Austin American-Statesman. The Statesman cited a source close to the situation that stressed the deal is not yet complete, but that talks were "heating up."

The proposed deal would allow Texas to keep the Longhorn Network, though the Statesman reports the Network would have to add other Pac-12 programming to the network.
