Yeah. I've been scoring pretty consistently with my team, but the first two weeks I was up against people that scored significantly higher lol. I'm averaging about 111 points a week atm, which isn't too shabby considering Mike Williams (TB) has been putting up shit for points for 2 weeks now....and I fucked up bad this week. Picked up Victor Cruz sunday morning when I saw he was available, and came within a hair's breadth of putting him in as my WR3 instead of Early Doucet (5 points), and second-guessed myself at the last minute and kept Doucet in. About 2 hours or so and 23 points later, I was bangin my head against my desk. Damnit.

I've had the same issues with scoring, I put up 91, 110+, and like a 104 yet lost 2 of 3 so far, but my opponents had 125 and 136 (the one win, they only scored around 80).

The worst is probably my loss in a public league. I had 120, they had.......

I lost my fantasy game this week because of the terribly bad officals call on the Giants Victor Cruz fumble-that-wasnt.

Actually according to the rules the call was correct. Now with that being said, I think perhaps they should have a rule change.

Personally I think even by the interpretation of the rules used, the call still could've gone either way. Cruz tripped and that's why he went to the ground. It looked like he thought he was down by contact and that's why he dropped the ball and headed back for the line. I don't think Cruz intended to "give himself up" as the rule states, but because he DID go to the ground (accidental or not) and clearly stopped trying to advance the ball (because he thought the play was over) the ruling went in his favor. If one of the Cards had actually touched Cruz after he tripped, the controversy would be gone. Likewise, if the refs had acknowledged the fact that Cruz clearly tripped and didn't go to the ground intentionally (considering he was trying to stay on his feet and couldn't), it likely would have been ruled a fumble....just because he believed the play was over doesn't mean it actually was, but it appears the refs thought he went down purposely, which is why the "giving himself up" rule came into play, no different from a QB sliding.

Like I said, the call coulda gone either way with the evidence there, but while I can see what the refs saw I personally think that because it looked like Cruz tripped and went to the ground accidently, the play shouldn't have ended and a fumbled should've been ruled.

I believe I read one where Megatron dropped the ball in the endzone after going down (or something of the sort) and it got called a fumble. Anyone remember the play? Sounded more blatant case of "giving yourself up" then the Cruz one.

That was last year, and I saw the play on TV, not just the replay. What happened there was a different rule because he was in the end zone. He caught the ball in the air and was contacted on his way to the ground, and landed on his hip and left hand while his right contained the ball. He bounced off the ground, and twisted to get up and used the ball as leverage to get up, leaving it on the ground when he stood to begin celebrating.

Because it occured in the end zone and he was contacted while in the air, by rule he needed to maintain control of the ball even during contact with the ground and because he let go of the ball before possession was established (established by rule I mean; it looked like a catch to me) it was ruled an incomplete catch, not a fumble. By the officials viewpoint and the rules covering endzone catches, Megatron never truly had possession of the ball.

That's a rule that could use a re-write, but it's still going to come down to a judgement call because whether that was a catch or not really just comes down to opinion.
